Up Nort

The yellow box is the property,
The red X is my location on the ground.
The green line is the first path the buck took
The yellow line is where the does and three fawns came out
The orange line is the buck's last path.
The red circle is where I was sitting in my tree hammock with my ghillie suit.

I didn't run any cams on this farm.
I lost the 100 acre farm to the south of this 100 acre farm. The land was sold.
Here's how it went down.
Deer blew at me from the pasture as I walked in Sunday morning. I snort wheezed back at them.
At around 8:30 I had to piss so I got on my knees and had a doe starring at me in the pasture and deer behind me in the woods blowing at me.
They bolted west.
I spot a buck ten minutes later at 300 about yards to the north just outside the beans in the pasture.
I did a series of loud grunts and then doe bleats.
He made it all the way to me.
I wasn't comfortable with the shot window and unsure of the distance so I let him walk past and then I tried calling him back with no luck.
I figured he headed south.
About 20 minutes later a doe and three fawns bust into the pasture.
They were on full alert and then they headed north and then back south towards me.
After a few minutes she blew and they all ran north through the beans.
I'm standing up at this point glassing the doe and fawns when I look left and see the buck again.
He is heading north along the edge of the woods.
I try grunting and then bleating.
He stops for a second and looks my way, but then continues north.
He is now 150 yards away and about to head into the woods near the drain.
I make a last ditch effort with a perfectly executed snort wheeze.
He turns on a dime and heads right towards me.
He is heading my way and I get on my knees.
I see him cresting the hill and I get that light headed feeling like this is really going to happen.
He is now at ten yards and I mouth bleat to stop him broadside.
He stops and never even looks my way as to say, here you go brother.
He died in the pasture very quickly.
I was overcome with emotion and I let it all out.
It's amazing what harvesting an animal can do to a man and the serotonin boost it provides.
To take a deer in this manner is challenging and when it comes together like this it's an amazing experience.
Experiences like this are nothing short of Divine.
