2nd annual fishing trip

What a trip. Wednesday night I loaded my smoker, fishing poles, cooler, chair and everything else I needed into the truck. Thursday morning I got up at 3:30 and started to get ready, finished packing my bag and hit the road by 4:30. Somewhere in Ky I stopped for coffee and gas. I decided to go ahead and fill the cooler. 3 cases of beer and a bag of ice. I met up with one of the guys that was joining us for breakfast in Livingston. We got to the cabin around 9:30, got unpacked and cracked my first beer by 10:30.
The other 2 guys finally showed up around 1:00. We bullshitted for a few hours and then went down to the marina to take possession of the boat. They let us have it early since it wasn't being used so we said to hell with it, lets go on out. We fished for about 2 hours then headed in. Back to the cabin for more beer and some strips on the grill. We got up the next morning and made leftover steak and eggs, sausage, bacon and biscuits for breakfast. Took a shit, time to hit the lake.
We didn't have much luck. We only caught 4 blue gill. Weve decided that next year, this will be a drinking trip lol.
Back to the cabin around 2:30, time to smoke some ribs. They were pretty damn good. Saturday morning we got up and I started making pork belly burnt ends.
They didn't turn out to bad for my first attempt. Next time Ill pull them a little sooner.
Time for football and beer. One of the other guys put on 3 beef roasts on his smoker once I pulled my pork belly off. We also made some mac and cheese and added the left over rib meat and some of the pork belly. That's shit was killer. Football didn't quite go how I had hoped it would but shit happens. Got up Sunday morning cleaned up the cabin and hit the road. We had a great time, tons of laughs and a lot of drinking. I only had 4 beers left. Im already looking forward to next year. Catching fish is just a bonus on a weekend like this and everyone agrees.

Good stuff Dustin. Glad you had a great time. Hopefully next year I can be down the same weekend and have a beer with you.
