Ever hear of a Squrouse?

I thought it was local Jefferson County folklore after hearing the locals at the neighborhood watering hole mention them in the past.
They told me stories about train derailment of 1920, lost gold, Moonshine Running during Prohibition, the ghosts in Devil's Hollow, then The Squrouse.
I just chalked it up to thinking they perhaps had a little TOO many Spirits.

It was confirmed.....Squrouse do exist. My buddy Scott flushed this critter, then it landed in a tree, and jumped limb to limb trying to elude in fast order. It met its demise at the end of a 12 gauge shotgun.

Dannmann was there and can confirm, Squrouse exist in our parts of Jefferson County.

There is some truth to the gold story but its north of Jefferson County along what was the "Great Trail". The injuns were chasing frenchmen who ditched gold because it was too heavy, slowing them down. and never could remember where they hid it. The best bet is close to the Highlandtown Area.

That might be the last grouse in Jefferson.
