Breath brother, I'm feeling it for this afternoon! I can't make it out, good luck to you two! Let me know if you need a couple extra hands to help drag or deliver some barley pops.

Saw a button buck tonight. First deer I've seen since Thursday morning so I was going to shoot it. Just as I was going to draw he got all spooky. Next thing I see he takes off and in comes a coyote. I had the yote at 30 yards so I drew on him. Just as I was about to hit the trigger he moved and headed out. Guess that shows how this week is going. Finally see a deer and a coyote runs it off.

Probably headed home tomorrow after the morning hunt. We had planned to hunt through Wednesday but it's supposed to start raining here tomorrow night and last for two days. No sense in hanging around here watching it rain. Plus my son is playing a high school soccer playoff game Tuesday afternoon. Leaving tomorrow will get me home in time to see it.

Well, we just didn't have it in us to go hunt this morning. If I'm going to get home in time for my boys game tomorrow I need to get out of here by noon. We've got a lot of packing to do and need to get our treestands off the property. Obviously if the hunting were better we'd stay a few more days and get after it. I just think we are a week early. This is our first time hunting October instead of November out here. From now on if hunting out here between 11/1 and 11/15 isn't an option with my schedule I just won't do it. It wasn't all bad. Got to meet Brock and the famous Mason. The lodging and meals at Holly Hills were great. Dean and Marsha run a great place there. Thanks again Brock for the opportunity to hunt private land. It didn't work out as we hoped but that's hunting.

Hate to see you guys leaving without a deer or two, sure wish it would have worked out a little better! Be careful traveling, and good luck when you get home. You guys are welcome back anytime this season if you can find time. It's a great farm, wish you and Pete would have seen that for yourselves.

Sorry to hear you guys didn't get any shots. Blows my mind. That place was loaded with deer when Garrett and I hunted it. "Loaded" being a relative term. Where I live I don't always get to see deer. Not like we had every deer we saw in bow range. We did see deer though. Of course, we slid in and slid out each time and it was opening weekend. They didn't know they were being hunted yet.

I don't know what happened. The place looked good. I know the weather and moon weren't ideal but 2 guys only saw 3 deer in 5 days. It was real tough.

It's the curse... travel anywhere to hunt or fish, should have been there last week or next week.

No kidding there. Or schedule a trip. Weather looks perfect for two weeks leading up to departure. Night before you leave they change forecast to crappy weather. Never fails.
