Alpaca Socks?

I have never tried them but I have a friend that swears by them, I would like to hear a few more reviews before I breakdown and try a pair. I used to only wear smart wool, but lately I have been buying darn tough socks and I have been happy with them. I have always believed you need to take care of your feet. Nothing can ruin a trip faster than blisters or hot spots.

Love Merino and love Alpaca. Both have similar properties, but the Alpaca are nicer. Now I am not talking about those lower blended ones, I need at least 80% Merino or Alpaca. Also, I want virgin (that's enough Mr. Giles) not recycled wool. When they recycle they break the fibers and things get itchy/scratchy.
Alpaca and Merino will regulate your heat and keep you cooler too!

I have gone away from Gortex and wear Codet or Big Bill as they are still reasonably priced outerwear, that keeps the itchy/scratchy off my skin. I wear silk and merino long underwear under them. I only wear Gortex in heavy rain and wind conditions where I am sitting on stand. Breathable my arse your body sheds water vapor and eventually you are just as wet as if the gear leaked... Wool when treated with lanolin or a silicone will shed water off the surface, and the sub surface will absorb your water vapor and you will stay warmer!

I also wear this when very active in cold weather, but it works in warm also.

Brynje mesh base layer.

Maybe you should check them out. Hollow is the brand I was looking at, the price is stopping me.
That’s what I have. They are thick and warm. If you’ve got a pair of boots with not much room for any bulkiness you may wanna double check on them.
But they work as advertised. Wife saw them and got them for me, was pleasantly surprised.
