This weekend was the 150th Anniversary of the world's fair, or as outsiders know it, the Barlow Independent Fair. It's Ohio’s oldest independent fair and it's held right here in my hometown. I spent some time with the folks from the Western Washington County Historical Society and snapped this pic from their display. This was taken in 1890 and is a family photo of a well-known local farming family. They still own and farm the property where this house once stood. The buck in the hands of the family patriarch is a slunger by today's standards and was certainly the talk of the town back then.
Some of you gun guys have heard of Vincent Rifles, which were made less than a mile from where I live. The only thing better than this display would have been an actual Vincent rifle!
