" LEG UPDATE ".... So after doing alot of research on orthopedic surgeons I had an appt. today... Guy I picked had a ton of great reviews along with great credentials... After reviewing my MRI he says yup your meniscus is torn... At this point I suggest you not address it as many men through out life tear their meniscus and don't even know it. I asked him then why did my leg fold under me??? His response was probably do to pain... Needless to say I left there baffled... I mean... No surgery is great... But something caused me to fall and it'll probably happen again.... Guess I'll get another opinion.....

If it doesn’t hurt, I’d forgo the surgery and wear a knee brace when in the woods. Hope it works out for ya.

I tore mine my junior year of high school. During wrestling match. Left leg buckled underneath me. Went to the dr and the ortho specialist came to see.. Suggested if I could forgo the surgery I should. Asked what recovery would be with surgery and without and decided to go with surgery after thinking it over for almost a week and a half. Pain never subsided. Recovery after surgery was about a month and a half to complete mobility and I was back wrestling and in the outdoors shortly after. Still have some difficulties with the knee every now and again but I think that’s compounded by the 16 screws and two plates also in my left leg… hope you recover soon though man. It’s a mf’er

Due to the wear and tear on my knees playing in an adult ice hockey league for decades, I’ve had 3 surgeries for a torn meniscus. Took about six months to feel like 100% but could do most stuff after 2 months. I’m pretty sure I need another surgery but the pain comes and goes…I’ll wait until the pain becomes a daily obstacle before getting another surgery.

Just tie a stick on the backside of your leg so’s it don’t fold up on ya.
Hope you get through it. It’s unhandy having bad knees. I’ve got two of em.
