Last evening was a bittersweet one for us. I started the evening with a miss with Zach's bow. I'm not really upset about the miss, as I enjoyed being out there. It proved my preconceived notions that this traditional thing will be pretty dang tough!
Once the rain started, I high tailed it home to change clothes and get ready for The Black Night Show at Champion High School. Our daughter and her family made the drive from Lakewood to see the show with us. This was also senior night at the game, and all Zach's friends from his graduating class were there.
We arrived with the home team leading the game by six points, and three minutes left in the half. We were escorted to the crow's nest on top of the score box for the best view of the field. Both teams scored again with Champion leading at half time.
Campbell started the half time with a good show, but then it was our turn. Despite the rain that was blowing breakers, Champion band took the show away with their performance that was dedicated to our son. The batteries in my camera died soon after the show started, but I changed them out in time to video most of the show.
These kids did an excellent job and played their hearts out for the crowd! I shed quite a few tears hearing his name broadcast on the speakers, and during the performance.
The bow and arrow thing they did at the end was some really cool stuff! We ended up loosing in overtime, but it was a great evening overall.
