How long are they good?

I started accumulating some to take care of and they've been in a bucket in my garage for a year or so..... worth trying to take the outer shell off and Crack or just pitch and get fresh?

Try a couple & see. I heard leaving the black mess on the shells effects the flavor. But there's only one way to know. I'm still eating the ones I processed last year & the ones I'm getting now will need a few months to cure. Trees are really loaded this year.
