I usually buy raw beef femurs for Lola, so I saved some deer femurs and joints. So far so good. Supervised of course.

I quit doing that. dogs always loved having a deer leg to gnaw on, but it was too hard on me after the dogs had their fun. I've been wanting to figure out a way to make those smoked beef knuckles for dogs. dogs love them, and those type of bones don't seem to tear them up. one knuckle lasts them a year I'll get around to it one of these years.

My dog tried a deer leg. He got so gased up and bloated he got sick and didn't eat for a week. What seemed like a fun idea...wasn't.

We used to do it, problem we found was keeping them off a hanging deer. Always begging to go into the garage and whatnot. Tanner will still drag one home in pieces if someone tosses one out within a half mile of the house.

I always leave a little meat on the femur and half a hip bone for the dogs. My Bassett loves them without problems. My wife always thought it disgusting that i would give her raw meat. One day I gave her cockapoo a leg bone, it was the funniest thing seeing this sissy dogs groomed face fur all red from blood. I told my wife no matter how cute you try to make em they're still a damn dog.

lmao...

I always tell my wife that if (god forbid) you die and aren’t found for a while in the house with the dogs, you’ll become their kibbles and bits....

Chocking hazard and broken teeth. That's why I supervise and take them away after the marrow, cartilage and soft tissue are consumed.

I did one time for Moonshine. He loved it. I didn't do anymore after that. Dustin explained too me why not too do that cause of risk if moonshine would choke or something.
