Having a charging issue.

So this is my first Driod and after 2.5 years I'm starting to have some issues. Battery seems to still hold charge and do everything it should. I work in the dirt and mud but always keep a case with a flap on the charging port. I still think a dirty port is the problem. Any way to clean them?

I've used multiple chargers over the past week and it doesn't seem to make a difference in the charger, just the connection. I have also got a message that started about the connection. Online searches are just angering me.

I use a needle and a paper towel with alcohol. Get a small piece of the paper towel wet with alcohol and use the eye bed of the needle to push it in the charging port. Rub it back and forth on both sides of the middle connector. Also. Use the needle to clean out anything at the bottom of the port

yep have the same issues with dirt and mud, ended up getting a charger pad that i just lay my phone on because it wouldnt charge with a cord.

Love that! Did you find one that will charge with an otter box case? Or does anyone know of one like that? This is the kind of simple solution I can deal with right now. Lol

Giles, mine did this until I did the update. Apparently somehow that affects the charging now. The charging pad is also I nice option.

mine charges with the case on but its not a very thick case, make sure your phone will charge on one before you buy it, my work phone wont charge on it.

I’ve seen some stuff online that car detailers use. It looks like Slime, or… like less viscous Silly Putty. You can press it into cracks and crevices… it’s sticky so it grabs the dirt, dust, and debris… and then you can pull it out. Maybe that stuff would help clean it out?

Wireless charging is tits also. My case is thin so my samsung wireless charger on my desk still fast charges.

You have the same case as I do but it doesn't list my phone as compatible. Hmmmm, I'd imagine it would still work.

I would assume it would work as long as your phone has wireless charging. In the past my Otterbox cases were thick and I couldn't use a wireless charger without taking the phone out of the case. With this charger and the newer Otterbox defender case it is just thin enough and I think the charger is more powerful as well and works just fine.

Old tooth brush and alcohol to clean charging port followed by paper towel and toothpick. I always turn mine off before I clean it just to make sure I do not short anything out. Compressed air works well also.

I've got a charging pad and it works fine with an otter on. S21 though...

Next thing I'm going to check on is a charging mat for in the truck.
