I've had the local co-op Lime assult truck in a couple times, but there are a couple plots I couldn't reach with the 11' width of the tires on this beast - and they don't drag the beast out for one 1/4 plot. So I've BOLO for a good product that I can get to the plots easy and lasts.

So I thought, wrongly, after reading a bunch of posts that I'ld have to do Pellitized Lime (Powered lime that's glued together) which isn't really bad but generally you have to reapply every year or two which equals- expensive, labor intensive, time consuming - everything wrapped up neatly in what I don't want on my farm.

So I found this little GEM at the local Ag co-op which is truly AG Lime, but will flow via a simple spreader - it doesn't cake and pack like traditional hard to spread aglime.

The product can be found here.

This stuff went thru the moultrie spreader very well, no clumps, not stoppage, nothing but ease. Three bags fit at once (150#) and spread completely on fully open within about 180 secs.

Easy Math, 1 acre plot, 2000#/ Acre, 40 Bags, 3 bags/load, loading 1 min. application 3 mins(4-5 mins*13 loads). ~1 hour start to finish for one man, and a good quality spread, lasts 6-7 years.

I wore my 3m respirator when using - just being careful, it does give some dust but not as bad as standard AGlime. You can see my plots isn't flat or level. Worked GREAT!

I did the Spoil Plot with pellitized lime, went from 5.0 to 6.9 pH with two applications 6 months apart of 1,000# each, my guess is I'll need to reapply Lime in 12-18 months. The cost is exactly the same.

I just did Ski Jump with this product, soil test from two weeks ago - 4.9 pH (basically vinegar soil), with 850# of this AgLime product, 150# or 3 bags
fit in the hopper at once) on about a 1/4 acre, I need to let it simmer for at least 6 months to retest BUT once I get it where needs to be I shouldn't need to reapply for 6-7 years - standard AGLime refresh rates.
