A few years back I made a lifesize elk target out of foam insulation. I never really like how it turned out and getting the arrows out was a pain in the ass. A few weeks back I refurbished it.
I cut out the kill zone thenstuffed it with rags and spray foam. I covered it in card board and then waited for it to dry. I cut off the legs and put it on a skid. This will make it more stable and easier to move. I made the antlers from 1/4" plywood. I also added body features by cutting out leg creases and shaped the outer edges with a saw zaw.
It turned out pretty good IMO.
