I seen several does from my Cruzr XC tree saddle, but by 9:45 things had died down and I decided to get down. I walked inside the edge of the woods, instead of out in the open cut bean field...and that's when I seen him coming across the field.
I knelt down and hid, watching him as he entered the woods. I gave a couple light grunts on the Extinguisher grunt tube and he started hunting for me. I dropped off my pack, knocked an arrow and waited. As he worked his way towards me (the wind was in my favor), he stopped behind a cluster of trees. I came to full draw, when I seen him move forward. When he stepped out from behind the trees, he spotted me instantly, at 25 yards. However, I already had a Snuffer tipped arrow on the way.
After the arrow hit him (heart shot), he ran in a semicircle for 30 yards, stopped and tipped over. I can not explain the emotional rush of shooting a buck from the ground. Wow! 15" inside spread.
