I don't have a pic handy...

November 10, 1982. Three came by, I shot two. Dad called our county WO immediately. He allowed me to keep the doe, the trophy 4 point buck went with him. It took quite a while to get out from under that shadow. Dad threatened to only allow me to carry one arrow for several years afterward. Heck, I thought the first one might have been a miss... :) I never forgot the lessons those two mad ol men taught me that day!

Killed 'em with an Indian compound, 50lb draw. Bear 2117 arrows, Kolpin broadheads. Absolute junk equipment but the deer didn't know that.

My first deer came the first year TOO was created, 2010. It took me until my third season to finally put all of the pieces together and finally get my first. I can't believe it's already been that long ago.

Darn Ben, You're making me tell on myself here. 1977 and was the second buck I had EVER seen in the wild. Didn't even want to go....Buddy begged me and 20-30 minutes into the hunt....It was over for me!
He's getting a little ragged looking now a days.

My first deer was a BB in 1986. I was 12. Not sure if I even got a pic with it.

My first deer with a pic was also my first bow kill in 1991 at 17 years old. Shot with a 1970's model PSE at 35 yards. Remember it like it was yesterday.

1991 was the first buck. Shot with a rem 870 at about 40 yards. Hit him a little far back and while my uncle and I tracked it the buck jumped out from under a small pine and took off. My uncle shot from the hip and just happened to smack it right square in the back of the head. Cracked the skull plate and popped one of the antlers off so I had to hold it back on while taking the pic lmao. Richland County monster right there lol.

Lucky shot for sure. That man wounded more deer then any one person ever should. Lost count of how many he had us out looking for over the years. He got lucky every once in awhile. Hoytmania seen my uncles big buck hanging on the wall 27pt and followed it up the following year with another great buck 14pt that had the same genetics and antlers looked almost identical. Only 2 bucks he ever shot and found I think lol.

Ya I wouldn't think one would get TOO lucky very often popping rounds off like that!

No picture but it was 1968 in CO. A big mule deer doe with a 243 Win. at 425 yds. stepped off measured. Hit it in the spine on the 2nd shot. We drug that damn deer 4-5 miles back to the truck. Wore the hide off both sides. Couldn't do it today. The drag that is.

My 1st Ohio deer was in 1972 in Willard, OH. A nice buck with a shotgun. The only deer I had mounted.
I was bow hunting with friends and got the buck the first day of gun season. My friend went back to the spot and picked up my empty 16 ga. shotgun shell. He made me a little gift with the shell casing on it. It read " the end to a candy ass bow hunter" I still got it and will try and dig it up. Good memories.
