First large mouth on the fly rod

Got to wet a line for a little bit tonight. Our church has a little pond about one acre. Caught a total of three fish. First was a decent smally, also caught one blue gill. But the best my first large mouth on my fly rod.


Caught him on a popper off the top of the water. It was so awesome to see the water starting to ripple behind the popper, knowing he was going to hit.

Nice! I mowed my lawn, brought some firewood up to the "splitting area" and worked on the homework with the kids. Would have rather been fishing.
