Morning looked perfect, cold, no wind and I cut some shooting lanes last week. But no deer movement. Until I drove out the gate and saw 4 does. Maybe next time.
Hopefully the next hunt is better. I don't know if cutting your shooting lanes last week had anything to do with the zero deer sightings but I usually cut mine in mid/late July. That way by the time fall rolls around it isn't something out of the ordinary for deer.
It might have messed things up. But I usually see this spot heat up around Halloween anyway. Still was too much green leaves on scrubby undergrowth to see very far even from the tree stand now.
