Petty Officer Michael Thornton: Quite Possibly the Baddest Man in the Entire World

The war in Vietnam was winding down, and Michael Thornton was one of only a dozen Navy SEALs remaining in the country. On October 31, 1972, Thornton formed a team along with a SEAL officer named Thomas Norris and three South Vietnamese Special Forces operators.

Yep - i knew several military heros from WW II - pilot who flew C 47 over the hump - paratrooper over Normady - USMC grunt on guadacanal - Naval Warrant Officer WW II Pacific combat - USMC grunt in Korea - and when i did my hitch in the USMC most of the senior enlisted staff were combat vets - all heros to me and a honor to serve with them - all gone now - different time and place
