Gaining permission?

I am wondering in general how do some guys on here gain permission on new farms. I just started a job in wayne county and there are countless farms on my drive to work. I am starting to think about gaining permission for next year. I am wondering about the following;
1. How do you find out who owns a certain price of property that looks good. There are many fields and wood lots that could be owned by a couple of the farms within sight of the area?
2. Do you just knock and ask, bring gifts, or ask and say you are willing to help out on the property?
3. Do you ask for just yourself or you and maybe your wife or 1 buddy you always hunt with?


Maybe some guys could go over a scenario that has worked in the past.

I won't answer all, but you can go online to your county & look up the platt maps to get an idea on who owns what property.

One note never call on the phone always ask in person with no camo on. Good luck. Also always keep the 1st request down to the bare number of hunters. landowners are turned off (scared) by too many new hunters.
