Ok so is this a glitch in the the forum or what???? If I'm signed on and respond to someones thread that was "currently up on the main page" and go back to the main page to read my response...… POOF IT'S NOW GONE.... It will re-appear again if another person responds or I log off....Anyone else ever notice that or is Joe trying to tell us non residents something??? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

After you comment on something, the thread will disappear. You have to go to new posts to see everything. Every time I post, I’ll hit the drop down in the upper left and hit new posts...pretty much out of habit.

Guess you could do that... but stuff of main page should be current...

Guess it was a dumb question...…..

Not a dumb question at all.

New posts = threads with posts that you have not yet read. After opening one and reading it tjat thread will disappear from "new posts" until a post is made to that thread that you haven't read. The benefit is as you rewd threads they disappear so you know what's left that you haven't read.

What's New = threads with new posts listed in chronological order. Threads do not disappear after you've read them. Benefit is you can go back to a thread to read it again even though there's nothing new. Con - you have no way to onow if the thread has new posts without opening it.

I always use new post so that I can easily see what I haven't read and what has new posts. After I hit reply to this I'm going to click the forum logo on the too left in mobile and go back to the new posts where this thread will be gone until someone replies to it again.

I understand what your saying Rich. (I think) It happens to me but I believe I am actually going back to a screen that was there before I posted. (hope that makes a little since). Thinking it needs refreshed....

When I first come onto the site, there is a list of new posts (10) and when I hit the drop down and hit new posts it comes up with 20. After posting or liking something, when you go back there are only ten posts on the page, you have to use the drop down to get the page with 20.

After my last post, I left and went to another site. Then came back on here and this thread was nowhere on the home page.i had to use the drop down and hit new post to see this. Also, I then went and hit the drop down and then home page and this thread was again missing. You can only see everything if you use the drop down to hit new posts. Hope this helps. Not a major issue as I just use the drop down to get to the main page.

This dropdown on the homepage. What exactly does it say because the "new post" shouldn't be a dropdown.

I think I can clarify some of it. The 10 posts on the homepage is a widget window limited to 10 threads. A preview if you will. As you read through them and threads disappear the widget will again show 10 unread threads in chronological order. It will always do this unless you have less than 10 threads that you personally haven't read.

The 20 posts you find by clicking the new post page is the actual page and not a widget. You can get to this page by clicking the new post button on the top menu bar. Or by clicking the words "view more" at the bottom of the new post widget on the homepage. After reading any thread under new posts it will disappear from you list until new posts are made.

Clicking back on any page may cause an issue because browsers cache pages. Basically once it loads a page it stores it so if you click back it doesn't have to download the page again but rather reloads it from memory. This can cause issues if it's just redisplaying a page that has dynamic content like threads that should disappear after being read. I rarely if ever click back on my browser and always reclick either new post or in mobile the logo at the top of the page which take me back to the homepage with the new post widget.
