tomorrow will be my first cast netting trip of the year, im absolutely addicted to it , but wonder why i do it when i get a bunch of small cats and carp in my net god they are a pain in the ass to get undone
i cast net for shad from bridges and shallow bays almost every lake in ohio has shad , but early in the yeari have to deal with the slow moving cats and carp , cause they havent warmed up enough ot get out of the way of the net, i posted a pic of my new bait cooler today , ill post better pics and story tomorrow

I've only umbrella netted in Ohio, catch some shad but mostly small gills. In S.C. fishing the ocean with my buddy I caught a few fish in the cast net but for the most part I looked like Stephan Hawking on free wing night. If I threw it in a decent sized "open" and did not almost fall off the boat I was pretty happy.
