Had a great morning. Turkeys were gobbling in every direction at daybreak. I hunted my boyhood home this morning with my dad. We both saw birds but his bird gave him the slip unfortunately. I had this big tom come 15 yards from me in the "backyard" I carried my first Red Ryder in as a kid. A really cool experience to take this bird there. This was my first time shooting a turkey with my .410 and he went right down, flopped a little and was done. I took him at 8:01AM, I didn't weigh him but he has some heft, at least 20lbs or better.
