I have a big grinder already. I want a very small one to stuff in a kitchen cabinet or the kitchen aid attachment.....anyone use any cheap little ones? We have the kitchen aid mixer so this looks like a good option for smaller batches. It's a pain using the biggin for anything less than 20lbs....

We used a kitchen aid attachment for years. Then upgraded to the cabelas standard grinder. Not sure what you’re considering a big one is. Both seem to work fine, upgraded because after years of use, you could hear the motor on the kitchen aid getting weak. We even used it for 250-300 lbs of moose burger a couple of years. The cabelas one is twice as fast.

I bought one for the wife's Kitchenaid. It lasted about 5-10 minutes. Then the gears stripped out of the mixer. That cost me a new grinder AND a new Kitchenaid for the wife. She had the tilt head mixer. It was pretty stout. I don't think it was ever truly tested until I tried to grind the deer burger. I have a feeling it may have had issues since new.

My opinion is it takes about the same amount of time to clean any grinder regardless of size. . Bought a cheap one years ago and it didn’t last. Bought a cabelas commercial grade several years ago and it works good as it did when it was new. I would just stick with your big grinder.

your experience with the attachment sounds great for what I'm looking for practical in house use. I generally freeze one time ground meat and whenever I feel like making treats I'll take out small batch sizes 5-20lbs and grind again before stuffing shooting or whatever.

I got one works great. Not a kitchen aid tho. I will look here in a bit after I get passed me being lazy right now.

It really depends on what you're making, and how much. I have used the kitchen aid one, numerous times and have had little issues. With that being said, it'll get warmer quicker than a larger one and if you're making sausage it can be an issue in large batches.
