Muskrat removal

I got a call this afternoon from a guy that said he had a muskrat on his patio and every time he tried run it off with a broom it would hiss at him.

56lb and a attitude that makes my wife look like a baby.

I had mercy on him and relocated him to a place I water trap. He was greatful.
 
Wonder why that dam maker wanted on their porch. I can see how people mistake them especially young beavers. Flat tail versus rounder tail. Easy to mistake when they are young/smaller.
 
He was 56lbs and that trap he is in is a 16X16X36. He wasent small. They had a yard pond with a water fall and a fountion running plus the hot tub in the first pic, I would say with all the rain the last 2 days we have had here and the sound of the water running just got him disoriented. I have been a nuisance trapper for 27yrs and this is only the 2nd one I have had this close to a home.
 
Something else is you take a beaver this size and with the strenght they have in there tail,Slapping that thing on a concrete floor sounds like a shotgun going off.lol
