New Buck Target

A local sporting goods store (Dunhams Sports) had these on sale for $90 and I couldn't pass it up. :cool: This is my first one, as I've always had block or bag targets and I can already see how much this type of target is going to help with accuracy, target acquisition and focus. (y)💯

What's your thoughts on animal targets vs. bag/block type targets? :unsure:

To me nothing gets you more ready than shooting at decent 3D targets where you still have to pick a spot. Unless of course they are shot up and have holes where you aim. The one I have it seems pulling arrows out of it gets harder and harder every year. Either the target is getting hard or I'm getting to be more of a weakling!! :LOL:

I agree. Leaving your target outside, might account for it getting harder. :unsure: The weather elements take a toll on things like that and therefore the reason why I don't leave my targets out....or treestands, ground blinds etc. :)

I liked having a 3D target to practice with, but like Holla said up above, the "pick a spot" thing quickly goes away. I've even seen some 3D targets with such pronounced marked scoring rings you can see them before the target gets shot up a little. My favorite thing about the 3D deer, though, was playing with shot angles. Shooting quartering away shots, you can see exactly where you need to impact the deer to get the exit you want.
