Welcome! Glad you could join us.

Gonna bounce something of you. What's the code for electrical junctions in the attic? I spliced into an existing run in the attic for a closet light addition. The junction is in a metal box with a cover mounted above the insulation , taped wire nut connections, and the wire stapled to the rafter within a foot of the box. I can't think of anything that would make more sense, but as you know sometimes codes don't make sense. Lol.

You need to spice the ground and tie that it into the box since its metal other than that sounds good

Thanks. The ground is spliced and connected with a wire nut then wrapped with electrical tape. I'll undo it and ground it to the box.
