Going to my gmas 1st time in the fall. 37 yrs of going and this is the 1st time to see the maples in color! Legal burnt toast foraging nature hikes whatttt? O hell ya. But besides all that splender 2 days we are fishing. Ive fished it all my life and its smallmouth known walleye ok. But never thought of jigging for lakers since they are never there when ive been up. Anyone ever jigg up a laker?

my total experience with Lakers was trolling for them on the edges (along shoreline) in Spring or Fall, in NNY. Troll a streamer fly in the shallows, in fall or spring, and one would do fairly well (3 -5 per day, most 14 - 20", 1lb or so). We would also put bait on the bottom, under the ice for them on Lake George in the winter.

If anyone has caught them vertical jigging i guess?
Yes, but it is easiest when you use some sort of sonar. They will suspend in the water column. If you can use a jig in combination with bait, even better.

I never had much luck with rattles or anything added besides bait.
