NR fees unchanged

I believe it's on a two year cycle for vote. So the next chance they would even have to raise it, will be next year. Hopefully these knuckleheads can put together a good plan for an increase and get one across the board.
 
How bout a Outfitter fee as in a very expensive way to prohibit monopolies. I believe its the Ohio House that has to create and vote on an increase in the NR fees, ODNR hands are tied on fees.
 
I have nothing against NR. I do believe as numbers decline, tags sold are reduced, and money generated decreases, it is inevitable. Resident and NR fees will see an increase. Tags too I'd guess. Costs don't generally decrease. Expenses seem to. Oh well. Not much we can do about it. Our voices are not heard. They don't care about the hunters.

I'm a non resident and I am not against a license increase. The money could be used to purchase more public land, or to manage the existing land better by planting food plots, controlled burnings and logging out some old timber. Could also use it to hire a few more wardens.
 
And both of you own property in Ohio...which I think you should be exempt from the NR taxes. If you own land here and pay the taxes already, I don't think you should be penalized for not residing on the property. Same idea as if I owned more land in a different county IMO. If that was the case, I wouldn't even need to buy anything to legally hunt it. Doesn't make any sense to me? At any rate, I'm sure Joe knows more about this then anyone else. I do believe it will go up to the house again this year as it wasn't able to last year.

I don't hold anything against NR's either, as for the monopolization of hunting land leases increases and opportunities for average joes decrease, Ohio will eventually wise up I think. Theyll just have to piss off the majority to the point of no return, I don't know when that is or if ever. But its seems to be getting closer from what I read on facebook.

I own a house in Kansas and still have to pay the NR fees as well as play the lottery license game .. Hopefully that'll change this year and i'll get my drivers license and truck tags changed over to my Kansas address

I am considering doing something similar in Michigan if things in Ohio stay the same. I want to be able to hunt bear possibly other big game up there after I retire

Bought my hunting license tonight. Also got my fishing, spring turkey tag, and furtakers permit. Total cost was $204. That hurt a little. LOL. I plan on getting my money's worth though. Got my son's tonight as well and I think his total came to $30. I do like how Ohio does keep their NR youth licenses low.
