ODNR/DOW Merger

There was a thread on here maybe last year about them trying to do it. That way they could use the license money towards camping sites and such. Basically calling sportsman money a “cash cow” and making it go towards things not conservation related.
Not to nitpick but the title of this thread is misleading. The rumor was Wildlife and Division of Parks were going to merge.... Not that the DOW is merging with ODNR. The DOW is a branch under the ODNR umbrella, just like Forestry, Oil and Gas, Parks, etc.

I wasn't really sure what it was all about my bad, that's why I was asking for more information. It's only titled that way as that is the description contained in what I had read which bowhunter posted.
Do you know what they mean by they will be merging with Wildlife then? Or really who is merging with Wildlife?

The DOW and division of parks was the merger. Hunters don't care for this because they believe this will allow the division of parks to appropriate DOW money from hunters for projects like pavillions and camping spots despite the ODNR claiming that'll never happen. The Divisiin of Watercraft was recently merged with Parks and from what I've seen none of the doomsday rebuttals prior to the merger ever came true however. But that's from the outside looking in.
