Purple Paint Law

no shit? well, it's good enough for the government. boundaries are marked with yellow paint for public, red for adjacent private. signs in some places, too. but paint is used extensively in most all of the way places on every bit of public ground I hunt on. I'm pretty sure if I marked my property lines with orange paint, everyone who sees it would get the picture. if you are caught trespassing, I don't think it matters if there are signs up or not, legally speaking.

It’s sad this law didn’t make it. Other states such as Indiana has implemented this law. I posted my property when I bought it. Previous owner told me to. Now there may be one sign left. Whoever mows the road seems to like to mow my signs on the trees as well. Ugh common sense law.

It does matter if your caught trespassing and there isn’t a sign law wise. Less of a fine. Also when you post your signs at the minimum you have to write endorsed on it. Then it carry’s full extent of the law.

Maybe people who own land should just start painting trees purple then the law would be passed?

Yeah the law really doesnt matter when the struggle is getting a LEO out there to do something when you need them to in the first place. If the perp doesnt stick around it doesnt matter what ya got.
Down here at least paint is predominantly used on large tracts of land.

Percisely. You can't retain anyone, and unless you have pics of their face with an identifiable background it becomes a he said she said situation by the time the law finally show up. Paint, signs, etc just keep honest me honest.

Yep I've had obvious pictures of full size vehicles on my property, evidence of property destruction. Then pictures of the same vehicles with obvious unique identifiers visible in both pictures. Took all this with addresses to the sheriff's dept. Nothin happened. Criminals definitely seem to have more rights than the law abiding citizen and our hands are tied if we are to abide by the law and not face charges ourselves.
