Today is the last day of October and there has been quite a few bucks that have hit the ground in TOOville this year. Have we ever had this many good bucks hit the ground in October in years past?

Last year was also dynamite. Not sure of the #s in comparison, but guys all over the country talk about how last year was one of the best Octobers ever. We're definitely having a good run either way!

I kind of gave up on October when I moved down here. November and then gun seasons have been it. I’ll be heading back up to hunt a week before thanksgiving.

Funny story... Been helping a friend scout and hang a stand in an area I thought would be productive... He started getting pics of a very nice buck way back in the spring... So getting close to the season I told him to stay out of there till around the 15th of October... BUT... What ever you do PLEASE be up in that stand on Oct. 19th... ( I've killed 9 bucks on Oct 19th )... So it's my lucky day... Well he didn't go... 7:30 his trail camera goes off... Guess who's standing under his tree??? He will never live this down... He did kill the deer this past Fri. so it still worked out for him....

Why is it always all about you?
Lol. Bringing up the fact that people are hunting earlier and earlier every year. These cameras have changed the game. Along with the corn piles and we now have many more early season hunters. That is why we have more deer dying early.

Fletch, I agree with you 100%. The 3rd Saturday of October has been my go to date. Everyone wants to hunt the November rut, but I will take the last week of October!
