Recent Aerial Images

Where you can get the most recent aerial images for free? I used to be able to look at Terraserver but they now no longer let you look for free. Anyone else have a good source. Bing aerial map is actually more recent than Google for both at home and at camp.

What about pay services? Are there any that provide up-to-date aerial imagery?? I've been looking at the same pics of our place dated 2015 on google, even though it says 2018.

I have thought about using them too, but then I think if I am paying money that I may be ahead to get a drone and take my own pics. Of course I don't know how much money you need to spend on a drone to get one that takes decent pics?

Everyone, check your county auditors website. Most of them nowadays have pretty useful GIS viewers with the most up-to-date aerial imagery available. Most of them purchase imagery from the State's OGRIP program. The OGRIP website shows a map of the state with the breakdown of when each county's imagery was shot last or is scheduled to be updated.

Good idea. My county has 2 different tax maps. The one map has the newest I have found which is the same as the Bing map. The other map is older than the Google map.
