Read a thread on another site that Remington will no longer be producing Accu-Tips..... I believe Federal bought out their ammo producing... So if your slug gun liked them like my 870 does, I suggest you look around and stock up... I know 3 inch Accu-Tips are favored by Savage 220 owners....

Thats what I've been shooting thru my 1187 rifled barrel. Thanks for the heads up.
I shot those exclusively outta my savage 220 when I had it. They never let me down... I imagine the straight wall cartridge put a damper on their sales.

The Accutips certainly patterned the best on paper out of my Savage 220, but their performance was just "okay." Expansion is minimal and green plastic fragments are a turn-off for me. Killed 4 or 5 deer with them... Did fine, but there are better options. Federal Trophy Copper sabots don't group quite as tight at 100 yards but their terminal performance is much better. Excellent, consistent expansion (more knockdown power) and no fragmentation whatsoever.
