My coworkers in the office are saying that it's illegal to live trap or kill skunks in Ohio.
Said there was a write-up in the paper about it.

Is this so? I've never thought about it - but can't recollect seeing anything about 'em in the hunting regs.

Anybody got any info? Paging Jim Brown...Jim Brown....

If this is true then that sux big time btw

My understanding was they fell into the category of catch and release on the same property or euthanize it.... The only two options...

Your CO workers are full of shit. Skunk season opens November 10th, same as coon, opossum, and fox. No limit.

You're absolutely right. Just looked at the regs (got off my lazy ass) and noticed skunk listed for the first time.

Guess I'm a lawbreaker. To me skunk season is anytime one is on the property, period.
I'd never paid attention when reading the rulebook.
But ignorance of the law is not an excuse either.

Ugh.

If they are causing damage on your property you can trap and euthanize them , same as coons . In season or out of season

I'm sure ya can trap and kill nuisance animals outside of season but you cannot save their hides out of season. Be it coon, possum , skunk , fox or whatever if they are a nuisance on your property ya can trap and kill them.

Get your mind out of the gutter
