Went to Arizona in June to see my son while he was at AIT training at Fort Huachuca. Great to see him after almost 6 months. Spent the week doing a tour, hitting up Carlsbad caverns, Durango Silverton train, Painted desert, Petrified Forest, Meteor crater, Grand Canyon, Tombstone, Bizbee, Mesa verde, sights along Route 66, it was an excursion and we covered over 2300 miles in 8 days.

Fort Huachuca Is where we did out night vision training with our flight crews, the aviation side of it is where we worked. When they shut off all the lights on that place, it’s freaking black out…. Hard too see your hand in front of your face on a moonless night….

Lots of history around that area….

How much longer does he have out there, Clay?

Beautiful pics. Haven't spent a lot of time out west, but these pics have me wanting to head back. Glad you got to spend quality time with the family and see your son!

he graduates August 6th, then to jump school at Fort Benning, he will then be working with the 82 through the national guard

One of my old coworkers was stationed at Ft Huachuca in the late 60’s when he was 18 years old. He said there were NO women around and they used to go over the border into Mexico to screw the 65 year old prostitutes. He also said he would’ve stuck his junk in a rock pile if he knew there was a snake in it. I’m guessing there are plenty of women around there today, but every time someone mentions Ft Huachuca, I always think of what he said!😂😂

Must be stories like this that make it so strict now. When they are in AIT they can’t spend the night off base, no drinking, it is because this generation can’t get it done.

I believe that’s been in place for a while, might be wrong On that, but the military has been cracking down on the freedoms while in the “schools” so they have more attentive students 😂
