We even had a BB gun fight once....
Used D batteries for hand grenades. The guy who got hit in the chest with one decided it wasn't much fun anymore...
As a boy I killed more songbirds than avian flu. I would literally wear out a couple BB guns a year. Usually the stock bolt would wear through the stock from pumping it so often.
I used my BB gun plenty on birds but had better luck with the .22 pellet hand gun my dad gave me. Man that little gun could shoot. Everything from mice in the barn to birds, not much was safe LOL!!
We would sit under big mulberry trees when they were ripe and shoot hundreds of birds, also walk rr tracks out of town and shoot them off the wires. Good times!
First bird ever shot was a goldfinch when I was let loose with a bb gun lol. I was pretty young but still remember lol. Old Daisy that you unscrewed the magazine from the muzzle and cocked it by pumping it one time. Along the railroad tracks of course lol.
