Thurn's butcher shop to close after 137 years

Not really sure where to put this. But if any of you have had the chance to set foot in Thurn's, they will be closing after 137 years and 4 generations. I will miss them. Some of the best smoked and dried meats and sausages I've ever had.

It's a big problem. None of the family butcher kids want to be a butcher.

What’s even sadder is the dispatch could only give that a couple paragraphs with all that history….. Writer was probably a vegan…..

I think it correlates with the 'everyone has to go to college' stupidity. Instead of sending kids off to be indoctrinated and loaded with crippling debt, maybe they should be introduced to trades and family businesses.
