Turkey nesting

We all have heard that a wet cold spring is devastating to turkey poults. But is that pre-hatch or after? We have had 2 sub-freezing nights in a row with a third expected. If a hen has not started sitting on the eggs will these temps kill the embryos before incubation? I have tried to look this up but haven’t found any relevant information.
I know a guy that found a nest with 13 eggs in it this week.
Last years cold wet spring must have taken its toll because I have only 1 Jake on cam and have not heard any yet.

Interesting. Does this change how you feel about taking them? How many Tom's does it take to keep the hens producing?

I thought I read somewhere that last year was great for poults.

Found this while walking around today looking for ramps, sheds and morels. Not sure if it’s a turkey egg as it is whiter than any turkey eggs I’ve seen.

Hens only need bred one or twice. Not everyday. A few Toms can take care of a flock of hens.
last year was a bad year for poults in extreme SE Ohio. It rained every day during season.
