Upped our flag game

When we moved out here 23 years ago Nancy insisted that we put up a flagpole. I had never really flown a flag before and it never really mattered to me much, but it seemed like a good idea since I love this country, so I was happy to do it. Our first flagpole got bent several years ago when we forgot to take the flags down in some serious wind, so I had to take it down. A couple of years went by before we got a bigger, better one, which was two years ago. I straightened up the old one and cut off about three feet of it, and it is pretty straight again. I repainted it and put it back up so we could fly a Gadsden flag, too. It is hard for me to say why, but I love having flags flying, and I won't ever be without the Stars and Stripes showing prominently in my front yard again as long as I live. I just feel good every time I look up at them. Here's mine. Let's see yours.

Our weather really wreaks havoc on our colors. My US flag was replaced earlier this summer, but my POW/MIA flag is gray and needs replaced. Probably should order one now so it’ll be there when I get home….

Is it wrong I quit flying ours? If I hang it again I am hanging it upside down as our nation is in distress. I'd rather not fly it than to admit we are in distress. Probably catch grief for this. It's honest though. I love this country. I'm not proud of where we are right now.

What does doing nothing do? If you truly love this country, fly that sumbitch and fly it proud.
