Urban Meyer is not leaving Ohio State

Just saw that he will become an Assistant Athletic Director. I think they actually have five of 'em or something. It's not mentioned yet what his duties will be, but he will also be teaching a leadership course. Pretty cool to be sticking around & contributing whatever he can.

Good, should help with recruiting. On another note. A leadership course taught by the same guy who just served a three game suspension for what the university called a failure of leadership. 😂

Coach probably got what he deserved for the Zach Smith affair, but A.D. Gene Smith should have lost his job. I think most people thought he would not just leave the program, but stay on in some capacity, like assistant A.D. will be huge for recruiting for the next couple of years until Day establishes/proves himself as the head coach. or goes belly up. :eek:

I told Jesse the other day that I wonder if he might be grooming Urban for the AD position. Perhaps Gene is leaving in a year or two. The fact that he's teaching a leadership class only leads to my suspicion that he's being groomed and that's for PR.

I think that is a real possibility, and have suspected as much myself since he announced he was stepping down as head coach.
 
Kinda glad he’s done coaching and hope he finds it more happier and less stressful doing this new gig. I got tired of his misplaced loyalties and zone option read offense. Hoping Ryan Day gets OSU back to a more balanced O and surrounds himself with coaches instead of buddies that actually coach and develop talented players! Hope he also gets them F’in DB’s to turn their heads around and play the ball again like they’re supposed too! Lol
I really like RD and thought he did a great job coaching the first 3 games. Just hope we get back to being in top 5 in recruitment again. It starts there but you have to do more than just have them strap up and run 40’s at practice. Lol
