We have the extra large top load and for short people, it's it's bear to reach the bottom. So keep that in mind if your wife is short or any of you have bad backs. Plus side is you can fit 3 kids and dog in for the same wash.

I don't know crap about washers and dryers as I've only owned hand me downs from my parents or low end new ones that I bought myself because I couldn't afford a "nice" set. a few years ago we decided to upgrade our washer before the old one died, and settled on a Maytag Bravos, and it has been a great appliance. stainless steel drum without an auger looking agitator in it, easy to use with pretty much all the bells and whistles for different types of laundry. does a great job cleaning my filthy work clothes as well as my high dollar hunting gear. runs quietly and is efficient. top loading with a glass lid. I have no idea why, but I love the glass lid. I guess I like being able to see what's going on in there when the lid is closed. not that I stand around watching my clothes wash or anything, lol. I think we paid around $700 for it when we got it three or four years ago. whenever the cheapo dryer goes, I'll probably buy the mate to this washer.

my wife and I have been looking at appliances. I continue to come back to the Maytag. I told her it just feels like it’s made well. The way the lid opens and closes, etc. this review is helpful. Thanks Jamie!

that's what sold me. everything about it that matters seems well designed and well made. Maytag has had a solid reputation for as long as I can remember. so far, so good for us.
