Any advice on a waterproof waterfowl jacket that won't break the bank? I had a cheap Drake Jacket that has been sufficient in years past that I just threw over my warm coat. Found out yesterday, the hard way, that it is no longer waterproof. TIA!
I have the Drake 3-in-1 Refuge shell jacket with the zip in/out windproof fleece jacket and it's the cat's ass. I've put it through the ringer over the years and have zero complaints other than the fact it has too many pockets and I lose shit all the time
They stand behind their products as far as I know. I just bought a new downpour pants and jacket after I absolutely wore out my old stuff. I even bought the wader jacket so I didn’t have to wear my deer stuff. It was getting double duty. You gonna pay for gortex no matter what brand you buy and after buying it it will be the best purchase ever. They won’t cover abuse, but will cover manufacturing issues. If you need a repair it is outsourced for I think 60$. Only issue I’ve had was zippers after I abused them a 1000 times

I have a kuiu coat for deer that is worth every penny, but it is not waterproof. I don't even have to layer with it. I agree, there's a reason some of those brand cost an arm and a leg, I am just trying to not get a divorce because I NEED another hunting jacket. I've been wearing the cheap Drake coat over my Kuiu and I stay toasty, but yesterday I was quite saturated when it was all said and done.
