Hard to find bourbons...

Agreed, probably the worst bourbon I’ve ever tasted. Tastes like you walked out in the woods and started munching on an oak tree to me.
It's like they put all the nasty shit you tolerate all together in one bottle. Bitter and nasty. Might as well serve it after it sat it the sun for 6 hours.

IMO, everyone has a different pallet and tastes that they prefer. I haven’t tried any of the Yellowstone juices yet but don’t be surprised if there’s a few that are much better. I cracked open the Old Granddad high rye mash for the first time this week and it’s one of the few that I don’t like or will restock and it’s a bonded bottle which is a proof I really like.
If anyone out there ever comes across a Boone County 7 year I’d jump on it. Great pour IMO, but again everyone’s pallet is different.

I'm a newbie at all this.
Have shared a few bottles over the last month. My favorite is the Woodford Reserve double oaked. Next is Elijah Craig small batch, 1792 is pretty good. Did not care for Baysel Hayden or New Riff
Try the BH toast, it’s pretty good. I really like your top 4 too.👍🏻

Russell’s 10 years and PVT barrels and barrel proofs are very good as well as EC barrel proofs.👍🏻🥃😎

@"J" Hard to get down here and somewhat above average for my taste. One'll stay on the shelf for something/someone/sometime the other is getting opened this weekend....

I saw a bottle yesterday for $240! 2-3 years ago it was selling for $35. I don’t know why it’s getting so expensive. I have one friend who says it’s his favorite and many other friends who say it’s just ok.
I’m in the ok group. But I definitely wouldn’t pay the price gouging for it. My son’s had a bottle for over a year, take a sample whenever we are down there, just to see if it’s worth the hoopla. For me, it’s not. But I’m a whiskey guy more than a bourbon drinker anymore. #jamesons 👍🏼🥃

Don't let anyone tell you the Yellowstone is good. That stuff is garbage.
Which Yellowstone did you try?
their basic is my go to easy to find daily drinker, the yearly release is good to amazing and the single malt is growing on me

This is the one I drink and I think it’s pretty good.
George, this is a must for your shelf. Rich says it’s distilled over your way somewhere in NJ and they can’t seem to keep from selling out, I see why now. 5 years aged and proofed at 116. Has great nose appeal and even better finish, IMO.👍🏻🥃

It's actually brewed in N.Y. in the town of Warwick... Which is just a crossed the border from me...
