Good luck Greg and if you need anyhelp dragging him just let me know.

Man aholdren, that sucks! Sorry to hear that but Congrats to the hunter though, that's a heck of a nice 8 pointer. Do you know the story of how he got killed? Drive? Neighboring property?

Dang man, that really stinks. That is a very nice deer. If I was fortunate enough to get a chance at STT, I would most definitely need some help dragging, as the holler he's pictured in is deep as hell with no atv access. I appreciate the offer Aaron, but first I gotta get lucky!

Thanks for the encouragement fellas.

The neighboring property with golden acorns.. He does a really good job managing their property and the 180 acres he leases. I used to work with him, I'd rather see him or his family holding it rather then someone I don't know or it laying along the road from being hit by a car.

Well, I went out this afternoon and hung a morning stand and an evening stand. Starting my week long quest tomorrow. It's gonna be 20 degrees tomorrow morning, with winds under 10mph. I'm down in a holler, so hopefully the wind won't affect me TOO much. Not looking forward to the cold in the morning, but I'm stocked up on hand warmers!

I think you'll see some action tomorrow morning, Greg. Good luck dude!

Dang, that had to be COLD putting those ratchet straps on and stuff. Hope it pays off!

I put the Millennium stands up, no ratchet straps needed. The wind was cold on the atv ride in though.

I actually had TOO many layers on, so I got hot. I had to cut a deadfall out of the tree I wanted to be in, and only had my hand saw, so I just about wore myself out.

Good Luck Fluteman, I have a feeling your gonna have a good morning! I am going to take advantage of it and try to fill this last tag myself..... This hunch feels like a good one for tomorrow morning. "Just 10 more minutes" That's how I hunt in the cold........"Just 10 more minutes"

Haha, I do the same thing when I'm cold. I sit there in the stand, and I'm like, "Screw this, I'm going home." Once I stand up though, I'm like, "Oh man, I can't go home now, the big boy is coming, I know it!"

Best of luck to you this weekend, hope you fill a tag as well!

Remember me mentioning in the beginning that I saw Claw in person Sunday evening? Here's proof he's alive. First pics of him since the end of November.

I'm trying to zoom in on his pic on my iPhone and just wondering somethun. Is his left g2 busted up some? I can't really tell if it's just shorter, broke off half way or I just don't see good enough anymore.lol

Regardless he's a thumper and a hell of a deer.

Oh, take some pics from your set Greg so's we can see your view and enjoy your hunt with ya! If it ain't too much bother. I for one am living vicariously thru you buddy.

Nice show, glad you don't have to endure this cold any longer!

Ric, I was wondering the same thing. It's hard to tell with the pics I got. Most of them are of his right side.
