Identify this snake

The wife ran over this snake today on our road. I'm not real good at identifying them, so I'm turing to TOO. Any ideas what it may be? She said it was pretty long.

Looks like a black snake to me.

Black or Black Rat, I've caught many over the years. Average length of the ones I've caught was about 5.5 feet.

Snakes have their place in this world, but that place is NOT in a living room. You should have cut off their heads and made some belts...
