38 miles each way.... 40-45 in the morning depending on weather and 50-60 minutes coming home.... been doing it for close to 27 years now and wish I had all that gas money in my retirement fund :smiley_clap:

About 3 hours one way but I suppose if I only drive to work, then live there for 30-45 days, then drive back it would average out OK. lol

It all just depends on the day of the week.

Today I'm in the home office. Yesterday I drove to Cinci for a morning meeting, then to Dayton for an afternoon conference, then back home later in the afternoon.

Next week... Michigan & Ashland KY are on the schedule.

The week after... back to Cinci one day, Cleveland another, and have some things still floating right now.

Most days I leave early, take care of business, then try to get home for dinner with the family, Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Just depends on where I have to start my first job in the morning. It can be 15min to an 1-1/2 hrs to get there. The only good thing is that I get to take the company truck home so no fuel out of my pocket. The office is only 17 miles and about 25min. from the house. Take this upcoming Sunday for example. I have to work overtime up in Port Clinton and that's about 1-1/2 hr. drive for me to get there to start my first job by 8am and that's just on the south side of the district. Now if they give me a job on the north side I could be looking at 2, 2-1/2 hr. drive. All OT for me and the company gas so I don't mind lmao.

When I worked in the electrical field in Columbus it would be anywhere from 50 miles one way to 70 again depending on where the jobsite was at the time. With the 50 mile one way trips it would take me just about an hour. 25 miles to hit the 61/71 split and then another 25 miles of highway.

I live about 10 miles from work and it takes me about 20 minutes to get there. It's pretty nice.

However, when I first started this job I commuted from Clyde for almost two months, which equated to a 1.5 hour drive EACH WAY. It didn't seem so bad at first, but trust me it got old quick... especially once the snow started flying. If I were you Huck, I would try to keep my drive to work within 30 minutes or less.

It's 2.6 miles or 6 minutes, if I drive.

I used to ride my mountain bike and it was 15 minutes. However, I don't trust people driving vehicles. Even though I have plenty of shoulder to ride on, it would only take 1 time for someone to hit you and you can bet you sweet bippy they'd drive off and leave you in the ditch. I sold it and applied the money toward a CCW. :smiley_blink:

As a construction worker I cant remember ever traveling less than an hour to get to work. An hour and a half is average. Right now I'm going from Galion (just west of mansfield) to wadsworth (just outside of Akron). All on my own dime unless I can catch a ride with the foreman or find a carpool.

Update: I'm doing 55 miles a day..it sucks! In the morning I can do it in 50 minutes on a great day. Coming home, it's an hour and 10, normally. I get stuck once a week in an accident, averaging 25 minutes a slow down. The worst was a 2 hour and 15 minute trip...
