Tomorrow NY's gun season opens (what a queer date to start that) and I've been in touch with a man we knew when I was a kid...long story short, primitive cabin with good acreage and I'd love to do it next year. Slug hunt.

But, I've also wanted to hunt PA's rifle as long as I've been alive and seen dad's marlin and woolriches. Seriously, we'll do it. I've got some connections to land...

Steve, not sure where you saw that NY regular deer gun season opened today, but the Southern Zone opens Saturday 11/17. It is the 3rd Saturday every year.

I thought it was a funny date...my friend emailed me...not sure what zone but def. western tier or southern zone.

Iam with Brock on this one. I used to hate to see gun season come around. Now, I look as much forward to it as the ow opener. Time spent in the woods with family and friends is what it's all about. As Ric said, he and I will be hunting for does on our property. Enjoying time together. I will tote my Encore for sure!

I cant wait for monday and saturday morning, the only gun days i get this year. However i am going to be hunting the muzzleloading season hard come january.
