We used to eat them(the green part) growing up in some sort of creamy sauce with hard boiled eggs in it. Served it over toast.
Didn't taste too bad with some salt and pepper. Sometimes had a hint of trimec taste to it.

It's official.... they are awesome! I honestly don't know why I've wasted so much time looking for morels throughout my life. Dandelion is just as good IMO!

Just the bloom, fried as you would a mushroom. I dunked 'em in egg and then flour/bread crumb mixture. Goood stuff, and I wouldn't lie to ya about food...

They were open. I guess when Mason got home he thought they were mushrooms and ate a bunch of them...then his mom told him what they were and he suddenly didn't like them as much. :)

I just had some. I took Charles's tip and took mostly the closed buds. I lightly fried them in butter, two crushed garlic cloves, sea salt and pepper. No bad at all.

Mike, my buddy (the hippie-type, naturalist landowner I hunt on) suggested the same thing. That puts you in pretty good company! :)
