I've seen dads pull the skid steer and tractors and hoes with no issue. If I needed to pull a lot o would have gotten a diesel. It's no duramax but it will do what I need it to do! How was your 2003 hicks?

Ours mainly pulled an 18' mowing trailer and did so with zero issues. I am certain it would pull tractors and skid loaders but would not have wanted to do this daily. With a plow on front and salt in the bed you really noticed the load. It carried it but we were asking a lot out of it.

I believe we had a coil pack or two replaced while we owned it. Belt tensioner and idler pulleys were replaced frequently at first then we just learned to ignore the squeel. Those tensioner and pulleys are junk. I think we had a couple fan motor switches replaced along the way as well. Nothing major. Just a gas guzzler was my biggest complaint. Power was not an issue. Our Super Duty and Dodge trucks carry loads much better and I feel it is simply due to the solid front axle. That is a good looking truck and should serve you well.

Nailed it. Rear springs are softer also, but that was the design intent GM was going for. I would never put a full time plow on a GM, even if it was a Duramax. Yes there are tons out there, but it just wears out the components so fast compared to a SFA.

That truck will pull a house down Taylor, enjoy :). Don't want to insult ya, but will share thru experience - air those Load range E's down to 45-55psi on all corners when unloaded. Air up rears to 70-75 (should be 80 max on that tire) when hauling/pulling. If you don't, you will eat the middles out and will loose a few tooth fillings. I kept mine rotated every 3k miles.
