Awesome Job, Bro! Great write up TOO an awesome story of a great deer, but TOO a much deserving guy. I say that, because I know you better than anyone! Lol. Your my twin and we both think alike. Lol.
Your dedication to your wife and kids as a husband and a father are much to be admired. They come first and throw in your work schedule, it doesn't always allow you to chase your passion. Hunting big bucks has always been OUR passion. Growing up together and experiencing hunts, both successful and not. It has been a blessing to me to have all those memories. This year is no exception. Congratulations on an awesome deer and its surely made my season this far a great season!

Fuggin Awesome Ric.

Much respect. You view deer hunting in the best way possible and have helped me out greatly by all your posts in the past. You and your bro both 'get it', and its just awesome being able to be a part of your deer hunting.

Congrats on another BEAUTIFUL animal. I can understand the emotion involved. Its natural when you have that kind of respect for the animal, and really makes it what it is.

Just flat out awesome Ric..... Dont know what else to say.

Thanks for the read. Got me smiling in the morning buddy

Thank you so much for the kind words everybody! I've gone back and edited 3 more pics with a description of them toward the end of my story but before the dead Character pics. They are worth viewing and I can't believe I forgot I took them.

Just my take as to why I believe there is a degree of luck with every mature buck hitting the ground. This dude over the years covered some serious ground and had a large range. I know this because when he was a nice half rack last year I was hearing about sightings during the rut and winter yarding season of him being seen a mile or so in several directions. His shed I found was picked up by me across the road from where I park a 1/2 mile the other way. Knowing where his core bedding area was a huge factor no doubt but to be along one of who knows how many trails leading to his lair as he was slipping back into for the day was a shot in the dark. This old boy was out and about this particular morning and was on his way back to his sanctuary. For me to get into my tree without being detected or tipping him off and to be between where he was and where he was going under daylight hours while being upwind of him just goes to show how sometimes its better being lucky than good sometimes. Sure I did my homework, scouting, running cameras, practicing my shooting form and mental shot preparation, smoking my clothes and hunting as hard as I could when I could but we all do that all the time! On this particular day my gut was actually telling me, Ric, This is your lucky day!

Thanks again y'all for reading my hunt and all the kind words. I also believe you can increase your luck by hunting as smart as you can and as hard as you can TOO. Good luck and be safe out there!

Ric,
Since your celebrity status now.....
So what will your focus be for the rest of the season on and/or off the field?

Celebrity, rotflmao , I wish.....Hehehehe

YKW Ben, I'm glad you asked! After writing my story this morning that took me 4 hours to write up and edit in pics after getting home at 3:45 from work my mind was solely on getting my daughter Karissa prepared for tonight's hunt. I stayed up and washed our new predator camo clothes we got compliments Milo and Sean and hung them all over our living room and dining room trying to get them dried before she gets home around 2:30-3:00. They are almost dry and now I'm getting my shower and will promptly take them out to the garage and smoke them up real good with hickory. After she showers up we'll dress up in the garage and head to our stand. There is still another slob buck running around in the area I totally forgot about till just last night cause I assumed it was the one I shot but I went back and checked and realized I must have been on dope to think they were the same deer. They were both caught on the same camera not 200 yards from where our treestands are so to answer your question, I'll be giving it my all the rest of this season to putting her behind this buck or another nice buck in a hero shot. Here is the other buck.

Whether we accomplish this or not it will be some awesome quality time together! I'm hoping my other blessing of a daughter gets the itch as well but if not at least I tried.lol

That is a dandy! I hope you get that kid on him and all goes well afterward. What a great way to spend the rest of the season. Now, don't screw up and get him killed too quick. :)
